Windfarm Turbine Maintenance
SRG’s involvement on this site commenced in 2013 when SRG Global was chosen by the OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) to assist with paint repairs prior to the warranty handover. The paint remediation involves executing coating repairs on the 68-meter-high towers and both the interior and exterior of the nacelle structure. We have since become one of Meridian’s preferred suppliers for Windfarm maintenance services including Paint remediation, Blade repair, Rope Access mechanical tasks and the supply of Turbine Technicians to supplement their maintenance crews. The blade repair tasks include lamination repairs and application of a leading-edge protection product. This work is carried out in accordance with high quality assurance standards.
Our wind farm rope access technicians are trained to the highest international standard (IRATA), and we frequently conduct training sessions for them to practice rescue scenarios. Each task begins with our team’s involvement in the risk management process and the establishment of safe systems of work. Fully integrated into Meridian’s safety culture, we remain actively engaged in maintaining and improving safety standards. Wellington’s notorious weather and wind profile significantly affect the productivity of our coating repairs and other rope access work. Our teams maximize efficiency during favorable weather conditions, adapt the internal environment to perform paint repairs even in inclement weather as well as carry out other duties. Our technicians are responsible for managing turbine control and performing isolations to ensure safe operations.
